The morning started off with a trip to the Cabrillo National Monument/Park and the beach. Naturally we had to see the beach first and the waves were beautiful. Cabrillo is a beautiful National Cemetery on the hills above the ocean – so many veterans – it is hard to see all of the white stones. We went up to the top of the Park – what a view – you could see for miles all around San Diego. It seems like everywhere we have traveled around this city we run into veterans. Wish we could reach them all.

We ate lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. I had a piece of mango key lime – WOW is all I can say. Then off to shop at Seaport Village and get Taffy for Jan. We then took a drive through the gas lamp district and checked out Little Italy. Then I said, “Let’s go to LaJolla.” Girls weren’t too enthused because they were sure there would be bumper to bumper traffic. We got lucky. The traffic wasn’t too bad and we got to see the beautiful houses and more beaches. We took the back roads back to the hotel. Barb was surprised that we were able to get back to the hotel without ever getting on the freeway. We accomplished quite a feat for country kids.

We are scheduled to get the quilts at 10:00 am tomorrow and we will be off and running I am sure. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

God bless,
Gail
